Don Supplee (Hopi)

Don Supplee grew up on the Hopi reservation in Flagstaff, Arizona. The son of two teachers, Don longed to be a master chef. He pursued his goal by attending the Culinary Institute of America and went on to become an accomplished chef.

When cooking no longer held his interest, he went to work for his brother, Charles. Charles Supplee was the jeweler of the family and was in need of some help in his studio. Don started working with Charles, polishing and cutting stones.

With his interested peeked, he worked diligently and soon began to explore other aspects of his brother's craft.
